Anne Reeder Heck - Ashville, NC
Anne Heck is an author, artist, speaker and facilitator of workshops for women and girls. A survivor of violent sexual assault at age twenty-six, Anne devoted much of her adult life to healing the trauma associated with this incident. (you can view her TEDx Talk here — link: http://anneheck.typepad.com/anne_heck/media.html
In her forthcoming book Finding the Gift: A Memoir of Rape, Intention and Miracles, Anne carries a torch to light the way for those seeking their own healing. She teaches that challenges in our lives happen for us, not to us, and she invites us all to practice forgiveness, self-compassion and trust.
Anne has completed Barb Kobe’s Medicine Doll online course, teaches her own healing doll workshops to women and girls and was the featured artist in the 2016 Survivor Art in Asheville, NC. She’s passionate about sharing her healing dolls and offers presentations with themes of healing, overcoming adversity and art as therapy.
Anne’s talks and workshops inspire and guide others to trust themselves, to open to their intuitive guidance and to experience the magic of life through ceremony, positive intention and a creative, curious spirit.
Anne lives in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of NC with her husband of twenty-five years and her sweet retriever pup. She can often be found hiking area trails or cycling a stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
