Celebrating Women Who Have Dreams and Are Working to Realize Them

Are You One of Us?

HOT FLASH can mean a physiological change that occurs in women about half way through life. Not in this creative online class from internationally known dollmaker and artist, Pamela Hastings.  Participate and create with women gathered together to discover the potential inherent in being an older women and in bringing our power together to celebrate what we’ve done, the skills and energy we possess, and help ourselves and each other do even more and better in the future.

You will express the wisdom and emotion of this universal process through doll making and art making.  Celebrate your femaleness and knowledge AND your ability to continue to have fun playing no matter what age you are. 

We’ll share stories and make cloth, paper, mixed media dolls, journals, and masks on the theme of Hot Flash, giving new meaning to the term, “Power Surge”! 

Wear comfortable layers and be prepared to have fun with sweat and exuberance…. and since the class will be taught online, you can attend in your jammies! 

This is an opportunity to create your own paper or cloth doll designs, look into your own personal history and aspirations, and join group play on a common theme. I will provide inspirations, suggestions, and basic patterns...The group will be supportive of every effort—and magical things will happen! Barb Kobe and www.healingandtransformativedolls.com will provide the Ethernet playroom for our six-sessions.
This class will allow participants to explore your own history and plans more deeply, using cloth and paper dolls and examples not in the book, and with regular email discussions with Pamela and each other during the process. You may use the class to explore personal issues and plans or to simply play with different mixed media forms. Go as deeply or as lightly as you like, with as much  or as little interaction as is comfortable for you. This experience will also be valuable for teachers and art therapists, giving you a new vocabulary of simple-to-make projects. Each of the six sessions will give you both cloth and paper/mixed media projects. In this version of  HOT FLASH we CELEBRATE all the potential inherent in being women.

A high speed connection to the internet is recommended for all students.

In order to participate in online classes  you are expected to have basic computer and internet skills. You need to be able to browse the internet, know how to download and save a document to your PC's hard drive, and understand how to open and save email attachments. It is your responsibility to learn these skills before the class begins.

Class will be on yahoogroups.

Please be certain you are comfortable with all of these skills. Class fees will not be refunded once the class has begun.

Class includes e-book curriculum with patterns and group facilitation and coaching with Pamela Hastings.  

You can join anytime between NOW and December 1, 2012.
 Lessons are easy to follow and you can participate with the group, learn on your own, and/or share with a friend.
